Gerhard Horn had a close, personal relationship with the previous-generation Duster. After one full year of long-term ownership, the car and Gerhard had formed a bond. They had been on many adventures, countless commutes and in the end, it protected his loved ones when it got struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Gerhard tells the story of the latest Duster, which has joined us for a bit.

SINCE the Duster, I’ve been the custodian of a few other long termers, but that Renault was – by far – my favourite of the bunch, simply because it fitted so neatly into my life.
