The new generation truck cabin epito-mizes modern and international looks, with improved comfort and drivability, along with standard fitment of next-gen telematics system.
The Punjab-based SML Isuzu (SMLI) appeared jubilant like never before at this year’s show. The event marked the unveiling of the all-new, next-generation range of light and intermediate truck models named ‘Global Series’ (GS) with refreshed cabin to meet the changing demands of the market. The new Isuzu-inspired cabin replaces the quintessential Mazda cab design that the brand is holding on to for its entire truck range since inception of the company in 1984.
Speaking at the launch event, SML Isuzu’s MD & CEO, Mr. Eiichi Seto, said that Auto Expo is the right platform to introduce new products and interact with a wide range of customers. “This time, we are here with new products for the domestic market in both cargo and passenger segments that are tailor made for changing customer demands, also keeping pace with technological evolution”, he stated.
Three new trucks displayed at the motor show were Samrat GS HD19, Sartaj GS CNG with turbocharger and intercooler, and Samrat GS Tipper chassis powered by an improved 85 kW (400 Nm) engine, 5-speed gearbox (with air-operated clutch booster), and 13-inch rear-axle differential. The company also introduced the CNG-variant of the ‘Executive LX’ tourist and staff application AC bus powered by a turbocharged 80 kW engine for improved performance on par with diesel. It claims that the key design and engineering improvements in all the newly-launched products are carried out to suit the unique requirements of the Indian market.
