This year’s Classic Motor Show, at the NEC in Birmingham, was held over the weekend of 10-12 November. There were fewer Minis there as some clubs, reportedly, had their stand entries declined.
The clubs that were exhibiting included British Mini Club and Mini Cooper Register, both with great displays. The Crayford Convertible Car Club always puts on a good display of Heinz Hornets. This year, as well as a Heinz, there were two freshly restored Mk1 Mini Crayford conversions. There was also a Metro Crayford prototype owned and developed by Jeffrey Smith, one of the two founders of Crayford.
