There aren’t too many people out there who get into the transport industry by chance, complete a law degree, and then establish a company which is now a DVSA Earned Recognition Auditor and ISO 9001 accredited, but Lisa Fleming is just that person.
Having worked in a variety of jobs, she had obtained her diploma in business and management with a company but was made redundant after a management buy-out. This was 17 years ago, and Lisa was then faced with a choice of three career paths having been offered three new jobs; an estate agent, working for an aeroplane manufacturer or Operations Manager at Currys the electronics distributors. “I did research on all three and opted for Currys” she told us.
Lisa passed her Operator CPC exams and then established a franchise model to give opportunity to owner drivers, so she set her husband up with a 7.5-tonner.
