SELGATE Healthcare all set to be the next brand in healthcare in the country.
SELGATE Corporation may not be a name many are familiar with but the PKNS’ (Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor) wholly owned subsidiary will soon be heard by many in the state of Selangor.
As it ventures into the healthcare industry, under its wholly-owned subsidiary SELGATE Healthcare Sdn Bhd incorporated 14 December 2015, the corporation has been making its moves in strategically moving towards the next medical and healthcare player in the industry.
Say SELGATE Corporation CEO Noor Hisham b. Hj. Mohd Ghouth: “After 50 years of experience, PKNS is involved in all other sectors of business but not healthcare. Looking at the demand and potential of the sector, it is timely that PKNS enters the medical and healthcare industry.”
The healthcare industry brings tremendous prospects for the company as it diversifies its business and while it happens to be a new player in this field, Noor Hisham believes that it is better late than never.
“SELGATE is spearheading PKNS and the state’s venture into medical and healthcare business with a vision to provide affordable quality care. As it aspires to elevate the quality of life for the people of Selangor and the Malaysian public, SELGATE believes that based on market sentiment, population demand and economic viability, our entry into this industry is apt,” says the affable CEO.
However, seeing as it a newcomer in the industry, SELGATE’s growth strategy is to identify hospitals and medical centres - green field and brown field – and acquire, merge or jointly develop them with local / international credible partners.
A sound strategy one might say for a relatively new player in the industry, but a clever one from the group, which has already etched a name for itself in the highly competitive property sector in the state of Selangor.
