From the food we eat to the produce we buy, many of us do not raise the question of where it comes from or the process in which it derives. Statistics reveal this truth further by proving that most people today are three to four generations removed from the farm and do not know where the food they eat originates and do not care about knowing the purpose of agriculture.
An individual farmer in America today can feed more than 166 people versus 25 in the 1960s. As our world population soars, the demand for the food and fiber produced increases. According to research, agriculture is the nation’s top export. In 2016, approximately $135.5 billion’s worth of American agriculture products was exported around the world.
