Coal India chairman asked MCL officials to improve performance to enable the Coal India meet its commitment of producing 20 lakh tons daily.
Jha reportedly raised concerns over production shortfall at Talcher Coalfields and asked MCL to improve capacity utilisation.
With the onset of conducive environment for mining in the winter, CIL chairman stressed the commitment to produce two million ton of coal per day from December 1 Jha said adding that all efforts should be taken to till March 31 to achieve the target.
Chairman Jha and additional coal secretary Tiwari visited Basundhara area and also coal mines of Lakhanpur area of Mahanadi Coalfields and reviewed coal mining operations. They were accompanied by B.N.Shukla, CMD and senior management of MCL.
Government mops up ₹ 2,03,221 crore revenue from CIL since FY14
The Government has collected Rs. 203221.12 crore in revenue from Coal India Limited (CIL) in the last six years beginning from financial year 2013-14 up to the last fiscal 2018-19, Union Coal Minister Shri Pralhad Joshi informed the Parliament on Wednesday.
Of the total revenue received, the maximum of Rs. 44826.43 crore was mopped up in 2018-19. In 2017-18, the revenue stood at Rs. 44046.57 crore while in the preceding fiscal, it was Rs. 44068.28 crore.
In 2015-16, the government fetched 29084.11 crore whereas the figure remained at Rs. 21482.21 in financial year 2014-15. In FY 2013-14, it remained at Rs. 19713.52 crore.
In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, the Minister also informed that the consolidated State-wise coal production from the functional coal mines during last six years (2013-14 to 2018-19) remained at 3876.16 million tonnes (MT). In FY 2018-19, it remained highest at 728.718 MT.

SCCL's coal production up 64% in Q1

Coal handled by major ports up 38.5% in Q1
The 12 major Indian ports handled 39.37 million tons (mt) of coal (thermal + coking) during April- June of FY22, up by 38.5 percent from 28.42 mt recorded in the corresponding quarter of FY21, according to data released by the Indian Ports Association (IPA).

SCCL's coal production up 69% in May
After putting up a dismal performance last year, Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has started the new fiscal on a high note. Coal production by SCCL in May 2021 surged to 5.44 million tons (mt), about 68.56 percent higher than 3.23 mt achieved in the same month last year, according to (provisional) data released by the company.
