Patchi UAE’s country general manager, Aline Ashkarian, explains how the confectioner continues to stay at the top of the chocolate market
The past 12 months have been busy for Patchi – how pleased are you with the company’s growth throughout 2017 and into 2018?
"Even though 2017 was a challenging year for a lot of retailers, Patchi UAE has managed to keep a positive growth from 2016, opening three new boutiques.
"For 2018 we plan on opening another three new boutiques reaching a total of 35 boutiques across the UAE, as well as Patchi’s largest factory in the world due to open in the first quarter of 2019."
You broke ground on your new manufacturing facility at Dubai Industrial Park in May last year. Are you on track to open early next year? How will the new factory change the game for Patchi?
"Yes, we are on track with the construction plans for the new manufacturing plant and looking forward to our new facility.
"This will be Patchi’s largest factory in the world. Our production per day will go up from five to 10 tonnes per day, and that in itself gives us endless opportunities to cater to our growing network of boutiques in the UAE, clients, and thriving travel retail division."
