Legal Era Magazine hosted the 4th Annual International Arbitration Law Summit (IALS) 2019 on November 23, 2019 at Hotel Taj Lands End, Mumbai. The Summit brought together leading arbitrators and experts to share insights on the development of arbitration around the world.
The inaugural session saw eminent personalities share expert opinions on “International Commercial Arbitration in India: Trends ahead”. The esteemed panel comprised Dr. Lalit Bhasin, President, Bar Association of India & the Society of Indian Law Firms (SILF); Punit Tyagi, Executive Partner, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan; Aspi Chinoy, Senior Advocate, Bombay High Court and the Chief Guest for the Summit Dipak Misra, Former Chief Justice of India.
The first Plenary session titled “Investment Arbitration In India & Asia: Looking Forward” was moderated by Shreya Jain, Associate, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co and saw participation from Rajiv Dutta, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India; Krishnan Shakkottai, Advocate, Aarna Law; and Dr. Renu Raj, Director/CEO, Radanks Ltd.
The second Plenary session was titled “Arbitration In Gas, Energy, Resources & Project Sectors”. The session was moderated by Tejas Karia, Partner, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. The experts who participated in the session included R.S. Sachdeva, President (Group - Legal), JK Organization; Alok Shanker Pandey, Ex-GM Law Powergrid and Legal Consultant, Arbitrator, Conciliator; and C.K. Nandakumar, Advocate, F C I Arb, Law Chambers of C. K. Nandakumar.
