As I write this we’ve already welcomed 2019, but still feasting like it’s 2018! I guess New Year’s resolutions will have to start after Chinese New Year, which falls on 5 February this year.
That means the first quarter of 2019 will soon be over by the time any resolutions get tackled, and when we cruise towards the last quarter, we will ask ourselves the same question year after year – Where did the time go? I certainly had loads of fun in 2018. It was a busy year! Let’s start from the start, as I dust off the calendar and reminisce about my social highlights of 2018.
2018 started off on a momentous culinary note with the reopening of internationally acclaimed Noma, founded by Rene Redzepi and awarded world’s best restaurant four times by San Pellegrino’s World’s 50 Best. After an almost yearlong relocation and renovation, Noma reopened in February 2018 with a new concept and a brand-new sprawling location. Going forward, they will present menus according to the seasons, so in winter months, it will only be seafood; spring and summer, vegetables; and fall, meat.
