Robots will take jobs away, but in the foreseeable future, humans will most definitely make the crucial decisions about talent. So what does it take to strike the perfect balance between HR tech and a human-based experience?
Technology rules (more for the HR function), and considering the skill shortages and a dynamically evolving workforce, the use of new and emerging technologies by organizations is soaring – whether to increase productivity or quicken their capacity to find top talent. The pace at which HR tech is being innovated is accelerating, the beneficiaries of which will be organizations, employers, employees and job-seekers. But while technology makes our processes easy, the future will be about firmly integrating the human element with technology.
Technology use is increasing but people want a one-on-one experience with another human. Tech augments what humans want to do, but what tech doesn’t have is the “want”, “hunger”, and the “brainpower” to do things by itself. Algorithms will replicate many things, but the sole power of inclination rests with the humans. In businesses, therein lies the competitive advantage – in the thirst for innovation.
