Chennai based TenderCuts was founded in 2016 with a mission to provide fresh meat and seafood that is antibiotic and hormone free through direct partnerships with local farming and fishing communities. Today the company has attained leadership position, being Chennai’s largest and India’s first tech-driven omni-channel fresh meat and seafood Company. In just 3 years, the company has grown its employee strength to more than 300, with 18 stores across Chennai and Hyderabad (5 in Hyderabad and 13 in Chennai).

What drove you into this segment? Are butcheries/meat shops getting more organized in India?

Data suggests that 90% of South India consume non-vegetarian food. Thus we wanted to enter this industry and we have been successful in creating a difference during these years. Going further, you will find more organized players entering the industry.

What are the ways in which you offer a unique proposition to your customers?

There are three parts to our success. Uniqueness in ambience, the product we serve and the hygiene.

If you notice, our ambience is very unique and we try to maintain the same interiors across our stores, to ensure comfort for our customers. Even though a customer spends only 10 minutes of his or her time in the store, we like to ensure a smooth transaction. We focus on maintaining cleanliness, which would make the customer gain confidence in the products they purchase.

Can you explain in detail regarding your focus on offering the right in-store experience to customers through ambience and design?
