The Indian producers of Ferro alloys are quoting or trading at an export price of about $1,1501,160 on FOB basis for 65-15 percent grade silico manganese (SiMn).
However, with the Indian producers quoting higher prices, buyers are not accepting such high rates this time and hardly any orders are being executed at these price levels in the international market. For 60-14 percent grade SiMn material, the prices being quoted or being traded at are about $1,0601,070 on FOB basis.
On the other hand, the Indian producers are offering in the domestic market, for 6014 percent grade silicon manganese, the current price levels of ₹72,500-₹73,500 per ton PMT ex-plant basis. But there is a little scope to increase prices further considering the demand and supply dynamics at the present juncture.
The above prices for silico manganese are at an all-time high and the prices are showing propensity for a high growth trajectory. It may be recalled that the earlier highest price recorded was ₹70,000 PMT in 2008.
The domestic producers of manganese alloys have adopted a wait-and-watch policy where prices are concerned, due to the surplus production levels of the material in the country.
