The Big League

Actor, star, producer... Sushant Singh Rajput has hit the ball out of the park.

Raghuvendra Singh
The Big League

Mahendra Singh Dhoni remains one of the most successful Indian cricket captains ever. And it would have been well-nigh impossible task for any actor to perfectly portray the icon. That Sushant Singh Rajput was able to go beyond that speaks of his depth as an actor. It must be hard for him to let go of a character he had been wearing as second skin since the last two years. But he slipped into a Zen mode of sorts and managed to do that. Here he talks about life after Dhoni, the travails of being an actor who reveres his craft and a certain Ms Kriti Sanon, with whom he’s rumoured to share a deep ‘raabta’…

The success of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story is unprecedented. Has it changed things for you?

Nothing has changed from my point of view. I meet the same people, eat the same food and I live in the same place. As far as work is concerned all the films that I’m doing right now are the ones I had signed before Dhoni. Where the industry is concerned, I don’t know what they think of me. I can only tell you what’s happening around in my environment.

A compliment that came your way for Dhoni?

Sakshi (wife of cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni) said that it’s difficult to understand Dhoni but the fact I could do so in such a limited span of time is remarkable.

As an actor have you hit the big league with Dhoni?
