After winning the hearts of the nation and being crowned I’m A Celeb’s first-ever Queen of the Castle, Giovanna Fletcher revealed the show was “more than I ever thought it would be”.
Gi, 35, said, “Mums can be strong and I feel like I proved that. I didn’t flinch at many things. I’ve always thought that being the ‘mumsy one’ is a negative thing – it’s not. It’s a strong thing.”
The mum-of-three was visibly shocked when Ant and Dec read out her name. “I can’t believe people picked up their phones and voted! It’s been the most amazing experience. I never thought I’d make the final, it’s so bizarre!”
But she was a popular choice. The final saw 12 million people vote for their king or queen of the castle, with Vernon Kay, Jordan North and Gi battling it out for the crown.
Talking about her experience, Gi said, “It’s been absolutely magical, l’ve loved every second. The best bit has been the people. We’ve made friendships and memories for life. I was so lucky to be there. Honestly, I’ve laughed so, so much, it’s been more than I ever thought it would be.”
And she joked, “I’ll have everyone calling me queen from now on!”
