Prince Harry and Prince William’s brotherly bond was shattered over a year ago when Harry announced he was stepping down from his senior royal role with wife Meghan Markle and relocating to the US with their son, Archie.
Tensions then bubbled over last month when Harry and Meghan sat down for an explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, during which they made a number of bombshell claims – including that William and his father Prince Charles were “trapped” and that William’s wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, made Meghan cry in a row over flower girl dresses ahead of Meghan and Harry’s 2018 wedding.
But with the passing of their beloved grandfather Prince Philip, the brothers were thrown back together for the funeral, with Harry flying back to the UK to walk behind the coffin. And ahead of the sad event on Saturday, royal expert Katie Nicholl told us it could be this tragedy that sets the brothers on the road to recovery.
“Harry and William’s feud is not healed, but they are speaking again,” she told OK!. “They were in contact during Philip’s hospital stay as Harry wanted to be kept up to speed. And ahead of the funeral, the brothers had been in touch and planned to meet beforehand. They wanted to see each other before they had the world’s eyes on them. They both want to put their differences aside for their grandfather, who they both loved so much.”
