Farewell Fashion Master

Known for his wit, his acid tongue and his talent in the fashion world, Karl Lagerfeld passed away at the age of 85 after battling pancreatic cancer.

THE world bade farewell to the master of celebrity fashion recently, but his legacy will live on forever – well, maybe not for everyone.

But as the world mourns his passing, they’re also curious if his cat, Choupette, is the one inheriting his huge fortune. Lagerfeld, whose work with Chanel and Fendi made him a household name, worked until the very end, and when he didn’t take his bow at the end of Chanel's two shows during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week in January, it was a sign that something was wrong. Lagerfeld, a German creative director, fashion designer – and fashion genius – artist and photographer lived in Paris, France. As the creative director of French fashion house Chanel since 1983, as well as creative director of Italian fur and leather goods fashion house Fendi, and his own eponymous fashion label, Lagerfeld was known for his white hair, black sunglasses, high, starched collars and, of course, his vicious remarks that left many celebrities offended.
