GH: Nurses' Ball Preview
The Port Charles social event of the season has arrived, with the Nurses’ Ball officially kicking off on May 16.
“Several big stories tend to come to a head at the ball and this year is no exception,” promises Co-Head Writer Shelly Altman. “What better place for things to happen — secrets to come out, feelings to be declared — than in a room full of the major characters on the show? There will be a lot of excitement, surprises and some danger, as well.”
Drama of various sorts is swirling around fan fave Anna as the ball gets underway: Not only is the secret that Peter is Henrik (and her son!) still poised to explode, but there’s also the matter of her unresolved feelings for Finn. When Digest visited the set during taping, Finola Hughes (Anna) had yet to shoot her most dramatic ball-related material. “I have big moments to come and I want to get them over with so I can relax!” she groaned. “It weighs on your head. And I keep playing Anna as enjoying the ball because I forget that I’ve got a sad story. The performances are so great that you get into it and then you go, ‘Oh, shoot, I’m supposed to be sad!’ The only one who can remember to do any of that is Maurice [Benard, Sonny]. He just remains inscrutable — and this actress keeps forgetting to be that!”
