ELISABETH MOSS 'I'm an OPEN BOOK'

Elisabeth Moss is one of Hollywood's most acclaimed actresses, thanks to her back-to-back roles in three game-changing TV productions. Fans of The West Wing, Mad Men and The Handmaid's Tale have loved her work for more than two decades, but she has largely managed to keep a lid on her private life, specifically her beliefs as a second-generation Scientologist. However, in a new interview with The New Yorker, Moss opened up more, explaining she's not purposely hiding anything about the role of the controversial movement in her life.

"I don't want to come off as being cagey. If you and I met, just hanging out as friends, I'm, like, an open book about it,” she told the interviewer. “It's not really a closed-off religion. It's a place that is very open to, like, welcoming in somebody who wants to learn more about it. I think that's the thing that is probably the most misunderstood."

In the same article, Moss also attempted to clear up rumours about her leaving the room when outspoken Scientology defector Leah Remini won a Television Critics Association Award for her documentary series Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath in 2017.

"I went to the bathroom," she said. “I wish it was more exciting than that."

In the wake of that drama, Remini claimed that the church had forbidden Moss from speaking to her.
