INSIDE THE MIND OF A KILLER

Bruce Allan Burrell took the terrible truth of what he'd done with the bodies of his two victims, Kerry Whelan and Dorothy Davis, to his grave. Despite the extensive efforts of police to get the convicted double murderer to finally confess and give some comfort and closure to their grieving families, he cruelly stayed silent.

In a new book on the shocking murders, one of the country's top prosecutors has shed light on what drove Burrell - who died in jail aged 63 in 2016 - to kill and kill again, and to maintain his innocence to the bitter end.

Mark Tedeschi, QC, the former NSW's Senior Crown Prosecutor who prosecuted Burrell says the killer had a "classic narcissistic attitude", and was motivated by greed and a sense of entitlement.

“He had some classic signs of serious narcissism which made him, firstly, completely insensitive to the extreme tragedy that he was causing to the two families involved,” explains Tedeschi, who will donate all his proceeds from the publication of the book to Australian charities that assist and support the families of those who have gone missing.

"He was so focused on his own needs and wants to the exclusion of all else, and had no empathy for the families that were left behind and to their extreme anguish.
