At age 50, Winona Ryder has ridden out the highs and lows of show business, an industry she calls "brutal" in a rare new interview with Harper's Bazaar. "You're working constantly, but if you want to take a break, they tell you, 'If you slow down, it's going to stop," she said. "And then it did slow down. So then you're hearing, It's going to be impossible to come back."

Although she never truly disappeared, Ryder solidified her comeback in 2016 as the scrappy and resourceful single mother Joyce Byers on Stranger Things. This month, Season 4, Volume 2 dropped on Netflix, years after the super-private actress received a 2017 Golden Globe nomination for the role, and along with the rest of the ensemble cast has picked up a Screen Actors Guild Award.

While a whole new generation has fallen for Ryder, she's found love with boyfriend Scott Mackinlay Hahn, 51, a fashion designer and the co-founder of the socially conscious line, Loomstate. The low-key couple have been quietly and happily dating for over a decade. "Marriage? I don't know," Ryder explained in an interview with The Edit in 2016. "I'd rather never have been married than been divorced a few times. Not that there's anything wrong with divorce, but I don't think I could do it if that was a possibility," she admitted, going on to say that her own parents have set the benchmark, one she suggests she can't emulate. "When your parents are madly in love for 45 years, your standards are really high."
