Child's Play

IF YOU HAVE AVAILABLE SPACE, A playroom is a great idea: a dedicated area the kids will relish as their own, and which will allow the rest of the house to be less cluttered with toys— well, that’s the theory anyway. Just close that door when company comes calling!

However, it doesn’t mean this room should be a general dumping ground for unwanted toys. It can be a wonderful, personalised space of which your children can be proud. Whether it’s simply decorated or if you decide on a theme, there’s much fun to be had putting together this room. It could be a family project that will help the little ones feel included; let them also have a hand, and possibly a say, in the design.

PLA OF ACTION

Write down everything you want to do in the room so that you can see which steps need to be taken, what jobs need to be done, and the items that need to be purchased. Create a mood board; it will help you pick complementing colours and an overarching theme. Pick a focal point and build the rest of the room around that.
