On a smug note, poor telecom service quality in India is a great leveler! It doesn’t distinguish between a prime minister and a commoner – just like Aedes mosquitoes. barely few weeks back, facing poor call service issues, Prime minister Modi had asked telecom officials to fix the problem. His message definitely sent the Babudom into a spin but it seems the sector regulator Trai (The Telecom regulatory Authority of India) still believes that mere ‘fine tokenism’ can spur service providers into becoming quality conscious gentlemen! Yes given, call drop is an outcome of many factors working in tandem to irritate users but service providers cannot shake off their part of responsibilities. And what appears to have emboldened them is the fact that they have been getting away with just mild raps on their battle hardened knuckles.
