TAILS are wagging at Dogs Trust Newbury as they celebrate two long-term lodgers being homeward bound, after being cared for by staff for over 800 days.
A ‘furry-tail’ ending seemed a long way off for a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Peggy, and Patterdale Cross, Freya. However, thanks to the hard work of the charity’s Canine Carers the dogs now have new homes with Aimee Vandersteen-Wright from Hungerford and Denise Lebatt from Basingstoke.
Aimee works as a Canine Carer at Dogs Trust and fell in love with Peggy, even fostering her outside working hours to give her a break from kennel life; however she wasn’t previously in a position to adopt a dog.
