Bontle was determined to marry a nerd who would turn into an IT billionaire.
Bontle was gorgeous. So much so, she could have any guy she wanted – including the handsome and popular Jabulani. Her friends all told her, “You and Jabulani, you are just made for each other. The two of you together – that’s a match made in heaven. Just imagine the beautiful children you’ll make!”
Jabulani was keen too. Week after week he would ask Bontle out on a date. But Bontle refused. Yes, Jabulani was good looking, but Bontle wasn’t after good looks. She had far bigger ambitions than that.
Instead, Bontle set her sights on Chester becoming her boyfriend. All of her friends were dumbstruck.
“Girlfriend, are you out of your tree? Chester is so ugly with those thick glasses. And skinny. And he always has pimples! Why hook up with a computer geek?”
Bontle just smiled. She went out on dates with Chester weekend after weekend, waiting for him to fall in love with her. And that took only five weeks.
“How can you?” asked Lorata, who was Bontle’s closest friend. “How can you bear to be seen with that skinny creature? How can you bear to let him touch you?”
But Bontle knew what she was doing.
“I want a geek of my own,” she told her friend.
“But why, when you could have any guy you want, Bontle?”
