THEY started out as friends but after two years Bontle Modiselle knew Priddy Ugly was the man for her. Tired of waiting for her bestie to make a move, she took the bull by the horns – and the two have been almost inseparable since.
Now, after 10 years of dating, the TV personality and her rapper boyfriend are expecting their first child together.
They can’t wait for their bundle of joy to arrive, they tell us when we catch up with them at the Indaba Hotel Spa and Conference Centre in Fourways, Joburg.
Bontle (28) won’t say how far into her pregnancy she is but says she feels better than ever. She’s been setting social media alight with videos of herself dancing while showing off her bump. “I love being pregnant, I love the state. This is the best shape I’ve been in my life even though I’m a fitness girl,” she tells us.
“It’s the best I’ve ever looked and it’s the best I’ve ever felt.”
Priddy (27) can’t keep his eyes off her.
“She’s going to be amazing, I tell her every day,” he says. “She’s sweet, she’s loving and caring. She’s so nurturing to her siblings and our friends that our friends call us ‘the parents.”
Bontle believes her bae will be the father every child deserves.
“You want to have the type of father who’ll hear you out, who sees you as the individual you are. He’s incredibly loving, so deeply respectful, even to those who don’t deserve it. He’s forthright, kind and an attentive listener, so I know he’ll hear our baby out. He reminds me of my dad in the way he carries himself. My family often say that the aura around him reminds them of my late father.”
And Priddy’s mom is crazy about Bontle, he says. They hang out when the rapper is out of town.
