In the coming year, Greg Berlanti’s company Berlanti Productions will have an astonishing 18 shows on the air, including the Arrowverse and Archie Comics adventures on The CW, Netflix’s YOU, CBS’ God Friended Me, and Fox’s forthcoming crime drama Prodigal Son starring Michael Sheen.

When he was around 11 years old, Berlanti made a list of ways he could become a superhero, and determined that the Flash’s origin story seemed like the most likely option. “[I reasoned] ‘I could get struck by a bolt of lightning,’ ” he says with a laugh.
