The various institutes under the Symbiosis umbrella always feature in the top lists of the country. What, in your opinion, is the USP that makes Symbiosis stand out from the rest?
Symbiosis institutions are ranked among the top 10 in the country. Especially the business school, the law school and our media institutions and even the university as a whole are ranked, by the national institutional ranking framework released by the Government of India, amongst the top 50 universities of India. India has more than a thousand universities and we are at number 38; this is all because of you know the hard work put in by not just by the directors of institutions but the faculty members, other staff and I think, more importantly the students because they are the ones who do so well when they pass out that they bring laurels to their alma mater. The other reason is that of course is that the Symbiosis management gives a lot of autonomy to people who work in Symbiosis and whether it's the leaders of these institutions or other members of those institutions. They have so much autonomy in their functioning and therefore there is a kind of belongingness that they feel towards the institution that they really work for, towards Symbiosis and therefore it's like working for your own family and therefore their performance is at their best and the result of this is Symbiosis is in the top 10 of the country.
You recently opened the Symbiosis University Hospital & Research Centre (SUHRC) at the Lavale campus. Can tell us more about this?
