A princess befriends a bungling young dragon in BBc1’s magical animation.
It’s become something of a Christmas tradition for the BBC to bring to life one of writer Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler’s children’s books.
Following in the footsteps of The Gruffalo, Stick Man and last year’s The Highway Rat, the story of Zog the dragon has been made into a half-hour animation, narrated by Lenny Henry.
W1A’s Hugh Skinner voices the accident-prone young dragon, who gets into scrapes as he learns to fly, breathe fire and roar. Luckily, he finds a friend in Princess Pearl (Patsy Ferran), who patches him up after each of his misadventures, and wants to be a doctor.
