A young orphan faces an ordeal by fire in a magical fantasy drama.
NEW FANTASY DRAMA
The Last Dragonslayer
Christmas Day, sky1 HD, 5.45pm
There’s no shortage of magic and mystery in Sky’s big family fantasy adventure this Christmas.
The Last Dragonslayer takes place in a fantastical world of wayward wizards and mythical beasts, and follows dragon-loving orphan Jennifer Strange, who discovers a prophecy naming her as the last dragonslayer. Problem is, Jennifer adores the fire-breathing creatures so why would she want to kill them?
‘The story is about Jennifer’s journey as she reluctantly discovers her destiny,’ explains Ellise Chappell, who plays her. ‘What I love about her is the fact that she’s not born a heroine. She hasn’t got the first clue about how to wield a sword. She doesn’t want any of this responsibility, but she takes everything in her stride.’
