Behind the scenes at the American space camp Our life on Mars.
The first manned space flight to Mars is predicted to happen within the next 20 years. But who will be the intrepid astronauts setting off on the seven-month journey to the red planet?
This week, The Mars Generation goes behind the scenes at the US Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, to follow a group of teenage trainees, aged between 15 and 18, as they prepare to become the engineers, astrophysicists and astronauts of tomorrow.
Among the space-obsessed group is Abigail Harrison, from Minnesota, who has been dreaming of travelling through our galaxy since she was five years old. The film follows her and the other cadets as they take part in a course designed to prepare them for Martian conditions.
