NEW COMEDY
Ghosts Monday, BBC1 HD, 8.30 pm
Things are about to go bump in the night once more as BBC1’s warm-hearted and wonderfully offbeat comedy Ghosts returns for a third run of rib-tickling paranormal activity.
The new six-part series follows the continued struggles of young couple Alison and Mike Cooper, played by Charlotte Ritchie and Kiell Smith-Bynoe, as they try to make money from their rundown inherited stately home Button House.
Things aren’t helped by the fact that they share the manor house with a host of squabbling spectres from across the centuries (who only Alison can see), including disgraced politician Julian Fawcett (Simon Farnaby), Georgian noblewoman Kitty (Lolly Adefope), and failed Romantic poet Thomas (Mathew Baynton).
In the opening episode, preparations are underway to turn the gatehouse into a B&B, while a documentary crew has turned up to make a programme about the house’s history.
