Miriam Margolyes joins the midwives and nuns for a Christmas to remember.

Last year’s yuletide special of Call the Midwife saw the residents of Nonnatus House tackle issues caused by the Big Freeze of 1962. Now, as Christmas 1963 dawns, they’re facing challenges of a very different kind.

When the nuns hear that their Mother Superior is dying, they return to the Mother House in Chichester to elect her replacement, where they also find themselves dealing with a mysterious pregnant woman and putting on a Nativity play.
