True Blood’s Anna Paquin plays celebrity fixer in a new drama.
Behind every airbrushed celebrity is a busy PR executive making sure their public image ticks all the boxes. New comedy-drama Flack follows Robyn, a PR who spends her days running round London, clearing up the romantic dramas and embarrassing scandals of her star clients.
‘Robyn’s very skilful at PR – she knows how to intervene when her clients are behaving badly and she’s always willing to go the extra mile,’ explains Hollywood star Anna Paquin, who plays her. ‘But a lot of her work is done at the expense of her own sanity, dignity and private life – it’s not glamorous.’
The series (Flack is US slang for publicist) begins with Robyn trying to kill a damaging story about Anthony Henderson (Max Beesley), a celebrity chef who has a squeaky-clean image but also a fondness for one-night stands. Can Robyn pull the right strings to make the potential scandal go away?
