Canadian comic Katherine Ryan uncovers an English pub landlord among her ancestors
Katherine Ryan might have grown up in Canada, but it was only when she moved to Britain over a decade ago that she finally felt at home.
Born and raised in Ontario, the stand-up made a big splash on the comedy circuit when she came to London in her early 20s, before becoming a regular on panel shows such as Would I Lie to You?, Mock the Week and QI. Because Ryan loves life in the UK so much, she’s always been desperate to discover if she has a deeper connection to this country – and this week’s episode of Who Do You Think You Are? gives her the chance to find out.
