Tony Danza and Josh Groban star in the father-and-son crime drama on Netflix
The Good Cop
NEW Genre: Crime drama Available Friday 21 September Season: 1 Episodes: 10 Runs: 60min
From the creator of Monk, the US TV series about a San Francisco cop with OCD, comes another crime drama that mixes police procedural murder mysteries with a bit of comic light relief.
Starring Tony Danza and Josh Groban, and set in Brooklyn, the series centres on Tony Caruso and his son TJ (Tony Jr), the latter being the good cop of the title.
Former Taxi star Danza, 67, plays Tony Snr, a corrupt ex-police officer who has come out of prison and, as part of his parole conditions, must live with TJ (Groban) – a nerdy, by-the-book homicide detective.
In the first episode, when a former colleague of Tony Snr’s turns up dead, TJ is shocked to find out that, according to forensics, he’s the prime suspect in his own case.
