NEW DOCUDRAMA
Grant
Sat-Mon, Sky History HD, 9pm
At the time of his death in 1885, Ulysses S Grant was the most famous man in the world and stood alongside George Washington and Abraham Lincoln as one of the greatest American heroes.
Grant led the Union Army during the American Civil War – and followed his victory by becoming US president. But like so many other famous names in history, his story was lost – until now.
Sky History’s new biographical epic Grant, produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, recalls the unlikely war hero’s life, from his humble beginnings as the son of a leather tanner, through to his leadership in battles like Shiloh and Pittsburgh, and his eventual presidency.
