Viewers of Twist, Sky Premiere’s star-spangled take on Charles Dickens’ 19th century-set novel Oliver Twist, are in for a big surprise if they’re expecting to see a fragile waif begging for gruel or cheery singing pickpockets in the style of much-loved musical Oliver!.

The thrilling, fast-paced film transports the story to present-day London, with Raff Law cast as Twist, a talented graffiti artist and free runner who ends up on the streets after his painter mother’s death.

However, Twist’s life takes a dramatic turn when he encounters a gang of wily young thieves led by charismatic, crooked art lover Fagin, played by living movie legend Sir Michael Caine...

Twist is far more streetwise than the novel’s Oliver, as he helps Fagin’s gang carry out an audacious heist involving slippery art dealer Losberne (David Walliams) and a stolen Hogarth painting. But Twist’s innocence and need for a family remain at the heart of the story.
