GRANTCHESTER FRIDAY / ITV / 9PM / EP 2 of 6 / DRAMA
There have not been many reasons for the Keating family to smile since police inspector Geordie (Robson Green) and his devoted wife, Cathy (Kacey Ainsworth), split up at the end of the last series of Grantchester.
But a new arrival this week is set to provide a much-needed ray of sunshine for the clan as Cathy’s niece, Bonnie (played by Call the Midwife and Ghosts favourite Charlotte Ritchie), pitches up in picturesque Cambridgeshire to help her aunt with childcare.
Here, in an exclusive interview, Charlotte, 32, chats to TV Times about joining the ever-popular ITV period crime drama…
What’s your take on Bonnie?
She’s lovely! Bonnie is a very self-assured and steady character. She has a young son [Ernie, played by Isaac Highams] and was widowed a little while ago, but she’s kind of taking that in her stride. She’s quite independent and fun.
