THE AIRPORT: BACK IN THE SKIES
NEW MON, 8.30 PM (TIMES VARY), BBC1 FACTUAL
Jeremy Spake shot to fame in the 1990s when he featured on Airport, one of the BBC's first docusoaps.
At the time, he was working at Heathrow as a ground services manager for Russian airline Aeroflot, and now he's back to take us behind the scenes as the aviation industry recovers from COVID in a new six-part BBC1 series, The Airport: Back in the Skies.
TV Times caught up with Jeremy for a pre-flight briefing...
What have you been up to since the 1990s series Airport?
Travelling around the world working for airlines and airports in various senior roles. It's been a busy 20-odd years!
What impact did the show have on your life back then?
A massive impact. Even now, I get asked, ‘Aren't you the bloke off the Airport series?'
We went from everyday work to becoming household names. It changed my life!
