What would it take for a loving mother to up sticks one day – apparently out of the blue – and quit her family for a new life on her own?
That’s the burning question at the heart of Come Home, a new BBC1 drama by Ordinary Lies writer Danny Brocklehurst.Set in and around Belfast, the three-parter centres on a family torn apart when mum Marie (Ray Donovan’s Paula Malcomson) walks out after nearly two decades with husband Greg (The A Word’s Christopher Eccleston), leaving him to single-parent their three children and seek solace from local woman Brenna (stage star Kerri Quinn).
On a wintry day in nearby Larne, TV Times joined Christopher (sporting a very convincing Northern Ireland accent) and Paula (back in her home city of Belfast after a 25-year acting career in America) just after they had filmed their final scenes…
