Dermot O’Leary on why he’s championing the underdogs at this year’s NTAs and his predictions for the top prizes…
NEW CEREMONY
The National Television Awards
TUESDAY / ITV / 7.30PM
Dermot O’Leary is just a teensy bit excited as he chats to TV Times ahead of hosting the National Television Awards for the ninth time.
With all the biggest stars set to take their seats in The 02 arena in London to celebrate what has been a bumper year for the small screen, the competition is going to be fiercer than ever.
On top of that, this year there are two new award categories to look forward to.
The Crime Drama Award will see Line of Duty, Little Boy Blue, Broadchurch and Sherlock competing for supremacy.
The NTAs will also pay tribute to the late Sir Bruce Forsyth, who died, aged 89, in August, by naming a gong after him. Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, The Graham Norton Show, Celebrity Juice and All Round to Mrs Brown’s will battle it out for the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award.
