CASUALTY
SATURDAY / BBC1 / 9.30PM / DRAMA
This week’s episode of Casualty is set to be particularly bittersweet for fans. Star Gabriella Leon is bowing out of the BBC1 medical drama (sob!), but there is happiness on the horizon for her popular character, nurse Jade Lovall, as she leaves arm in arm with her birth mother, Susie.
But first Jade experiences one of the worst days of her career after consultant Stevie Nash (Elinor Lawless) plants drugs in her locker in revenge for Jade being involved in her sister’s road traffic accident.
Meanwhile, there is also a painful reunion with Susie (Sophie Stone), who Jade had long believed put her into care as a three-year-old because she is deaf – only to discover last year her mum is deaf, too.
Here, Gabriella, 25, who has played Jade since 2018, tells TV Times more...
This is a fantastic episode – did you enjoy working on it?
Thank you! Sophie, who plays Susie, is incredible and always a joy to work with. Jade and Susie have not been in contact since they met [in July 2020]. Jade has been harboring anger and disappointment towards her.
