The truth comes out thanks to young Sam, who last week witnessed Simon and dodgy pal Jacob assaulting a lad. He initially keeps quiet, but Nick smells a rat when his normally genteel little boy has a meltdown at school and hurts another child, and his suspicions pique when Sam bolts from the cafe on seeing Jacob. Grilling the youngster, Sam reluctantly reveals what he saw.
