Yuletide in Walford is never very merry and, in 2014, the Carter clan had one to remember for all the wrong reasons.

On Christmas Day, Mick proposed to a pregnant Linda, who not only turned him down but revealed the dark secret she had been carrying for over two months – she had been raped by Dean.

That wasn’t the only bombshell headed Mick’s way, though, for when he later beat seven bells out of his ‘nephew’, a horrified Shirley blurted out a shock secret of her own... ‘He’s your brother!’
