After road-testing retired life in far-flung places including India, Florida and Japan, the stars of The Real Marigold Hotel are reuniting for more adventures, this time exploring China, Cuba, Thailand and Iceland.

The new four-part series sees the return of singer Sheila Ferguson, snooker legend Dennis Taylor and ex-EastEnders star Paul Nicholas, but kicking things off this week are four of the original Marigolders.

Dancer Wayne Sleep, actress Miriam Margolyes, chef Rosemary Shrager and darts legend Bobby George are heading to the capital of China’s Sichuan province, Chengdu, where super-sized supermarkets and high-speed transport cater for the world’s fastest ageing population.
