The city’s sweltering heat could never put us off our favourite Friday pastime…
1 Verve
Once Upon A Brunch is the new Friday feast at Verve by famed local chefs Nick and Scott. You’ll find Dibba Bay oysters and beef carpaccio for starters, followed by a traditional roast or truffle risotto and a selection of desserts. It’s 2-for-1 on house packages this summer, making it Dhs399 for two.
Grand Plaza Movenpick Media City, Fri 1pm to 4pm Dhs299 with soft drinks, Dhs399 with house drinks. Tel: (04) 5257633. vervebrasserie.com
2 Al Muntaha
Trust the Burj Al Arab to bring the traditional meaning of brunch back to Dubai. Called Le Grand Petit Dejeuner (the grand breakfast), brunch is served every Friday at Al Muntaha located on the 27th floor of the iconic hotel. It begins with freshly prepped fancy egg dishes such as quail eggs Florentine garnished with black truffle, a fluffy omelette of Portobello mushroom and aged Pecorino, and the menu’s signature dish, eggs Benedict with blue lobster.
Al Muntaha, Burj Al Arab, 10am to 3.30pm, Fridays, Dhs595. Tel: (04) 301 7600. jumeirah.com
