Back in 1977, the US miniseries Roots told the story of the enslavement of author Alex Haley’s African ancestor Kunta Kinte through to his descendant's liberation and became a global hit.

Now, a four-part series is sending famous faces on similar journeys, to discover their personal relationship to the evil 1,000-year history of slavery.
