Loved-Up In Lockdown

Former Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Tebow and her husband, Tim, have been holed up alone during the pandemic – but they’re not complaining!

Loved-Up In Lockdown

For many couples it sounds like hard work: being stuck with one another day in and day out while a deadly virus wreaks havoc on the world.

But this doesn’t apply in Tim Tebow’s case. “It was bliss,” he exclaims. “The most beautiful year of my life – one I could spend with the most beautiful person in the universe.”

Demi-Leigh smiles shyly at her husband’s glowing tribute. The South African beauty queen and the hunky American baseball player recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary – and it’s clear they’re as crazy about each other as they were when they became an item in 2018 during Demi’s Miss Universe reign.

Laughter has defined their relationship, Demi (25) tells us when they join YOU for an exclusive interview from Tim’s hometown of Jacksonville, Florida.

“Is that all?” Tim (33) asks.

“You’re also not that bad looking,” she shoots back.

On their anniversary he surprised her with 365 red roses, one for each day of their first year as husband and wife, plus a single peony “because she’s so special”.

Yet while they loved being together during lockdown, there were challenges. “I longed for my family,” Demi admits. “It became painful. I’m many thousands of kilometres away and with no way of getting to them I worried about them.”

She saw her dad, Bennie Peters, and stepmother, Elzabé, who live in Potchefstroom in North West, for the first time in a year when they came to visit in December.
