As the much anticipated GST (Goods and Services Tax) comes into Implementation from July 1, 2017, CMAI organised a GST Seminar by Eminent GST Consultant, Mr Rohan Shah and Senior Officers from the Dept of VAT, Govt of Maharashtra and the Launch of a GST Software ‘ADHIGHAM’ Developed for Garment Manufacturers & Retailers on June 15, 2017, at Yogi Sabhagruh in Mumbai. Mrugaya Chitnis reports.
Apprehension and excitement was rife in the air at the GST Seminar which was attended by the garment industry in great numbers.
Aimed at clearing the fear and misconceptions and educating the Industry members about this new tax format, the seminar was addressed by eminent GST Consultant Rohan Shah (Shah Chambers) & Senior Officers from Department of VAT, Govt. of Maharashtra, these included, D M Akhade, Joint Commissioner, Head-GST Cell, Maharashtra and Co-Convenor GST Council, Gajanan Khanande, Deputy Commissioner, Automation Unit, GST, Mumbai, Arun Birajdar, Deputy Commissioner, Nodal Division-5, Mumbai and Geetanjali Temgire, Deputy Commissioner, Nodal Division-5, Mumbai.
The seminar was also used as a platform for the Presentation & Launch of the GST Software ‘ADHIGAM’, which has been Developed by CMAI for the Garment Manufacturers & Retailers. This was done in the presence of Eminent Dignitaries.

Taking to the podium, CMAI President Rahul Mehta brought in cheers as he informed the Industry members that the Union Minister of Textiles Smt Smriti Zubin Irani has informed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi about this special Seminar on GST that has been organised by CMAI.
